Woman on Wheels is the proactive women empowerment strategic program with an objective of training women from deprived backgrounds to become professional commercial drivers. Our training program covers a wide brief, helping the selected women to enhance their awareness in areas such as legal rights, self-defense, English language, personal presentation, hygiene, financial literacy as well as the essential driving skills.
The training offers immeasurable benefits to these women such as work in a women-friendly environment, who in turn will inspire other women take steps courageously and fulfill new roles in their society, by taking on the so called non-traditional professions, and becoming autonomous and economically independent. The initiative provides a complete and transformative experience for women to move from a disadvantaged situation into well remunerated employment with dignity.
In response to the government call on strategic poverty elimination through creation of opportunity for all and enables equal gender participation in socio economic activities, the company is establishing the strategic empowerment move focused to enables equal Gender participation in house hold income creation through Transportation Industry.
Women’s economic empowerment is a prerequisite for sustainable development, pro-poor growth and the achievement of all the SDGs. At the same time it is about rights and equitable societies.
Our program is known as Women on Wheels (WoW) that means, creating opportunities for empowerment to women to become Professional Commercial Women Car Drivers – PCWCD. The overall objective of this project is to unlock women’s economic potential, fight poverty, close gender gaps, and empower women, contributing to attainment of sustainable development.
